LCS Names Gregory Smith as Superintendent

The Lincoln Consolidated Schools Board of Education is proud to announce the unanimous appointment of Gregory Smith as the next Superintendent of Lincoln Consolidated Schools. This selection reflects the Board’s deep confidence in his leadership, vision, and values.
Superintendent Smith is a mission-driven educational leader with over two decades of experience across public, charter, and private school systems. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for fostering inclusive school cultures, cultivating meaningful relationships, and implementing systems that promote equity, innovation, and student success. His leadership consistently centers people—students, staff, and families—and is grounded in clarity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to growth.
Greg began his career as a classroom teacher in both general and special education before advancing into roles as assistant principal, principal, and central office administrator. In every position, his focus has remained the same: ensuring safe, supportive learning environments where students thrive, educators feel empowered, and every child is seen, valued, and inspired to achieve their full potential.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, a Master’s degree in Special Education, and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Leadership. He also plans to pursue a Doctorate in Educational Leadership to continue expanding his impact as a systems-level leader.
Known as both a servant and transformational leader, Greg is guided by active listening, collaboration, and a belief in shared purpose and collective outcomes. He is respected for his transparency, ability to build trust, and dedication to mentoring and supporting others.
A devoted husband and father, Greg draws strength from his family and is guided by his faith. He believes education is not only about achievement—but also about transformation, opportunity, and creating real pathways for students to pursue their dreams.
