A Message from Superintendent Jansen

Message from Superintendent Jansen

Dear LCS Families and Community,

I hope this message finds you and your family well.

With a full heart and a deep sense of gratitude, I want to share that I have made the decision to retire from my role as Superintendent of Lincoln Consolidated Schools. Last night, I informed the Board of Education of my intention to retire at the close of this school year.

This decision comes with mixed emotions. Serving as your Superintendent has been one of the greatest honors of my life. It has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated educators, staff, families, and community members—all united in the belief that our students deserve every opportunity to thrive.

This decision comes at a time when I am confident that our district is on a positive path. We have a dedicated and supportive Board of Education, we’ve successfully passed both the sinking fund and the operating millage, and we continue to make steady progress on the remaining goals of our strategic plan. Just last night, in collaboration with the Lincoln Education Association—our teachers' union—the board approved a three-year contract, further reinforcing the stability and continued growth of LCS.

Looking back, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve this amazing community. My journey began as Principal of Bishop Elementary, where I had the privilege of working with incredible students, families, and staff. Then, in January 2020, I stepped into the role of Superintendent, facing unprecedented challenges as the pandemic reshaped education. Throughout it all, I was continually inspired by our community’s resilience, compassion, and unwavering support.

I am immensely proud of the accomplishments we have achieved together, including the creation of the LCS Portrait of a Graduate, which sets a bold vision for our students' futures. I believe wholeheartedly that the district’s strategic plan will continue to guide us toward success.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the LCS Board of Education for their unwavering dedication and leadership. I especially want to acknowledge the guidance and support of former presidents Yoline Williams and Jennifer Czachorski, as well as our current president, Jennifer LaBombarbe. LCS is truly fortunate to have a Board that genuinely cares about the well-being of our district and its students. Your commitment to fostering a positive and nurturing environment makes a profound difference. Thank you for your continued support of our incredible community.

To my fellow administrators, it has truly been an honor to work alongside each of you. Your unwavering leadership, guidance, and support have been invaluable throughout my tenure. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such dedicated and inspiring colleagues. Thank you for your commitment and the positive impact you make every day.

I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the most caring, dedicated, and talented staff in the entire world. Your unwavering passion and commitment to our students and community have been nothing short of extraordinary. Every day, you demonstrate the true spirit of LCS through your hard work, kindness, and dedication to making a difference. I am endlessly grateful for your efforts, and our district is truly fortunate to have such an incredible team.

It has been an absolute honor to serve you and your families. I am truly grateful for your unwavering support, partnership, and commitment to our schools. Your belief in our work has made a meaningful difference, and I deeply appreciate all that you do to help us succeed. Thank you for sharing your amazing kids with us and for partnering with us to help them grow and thrive.

To the students—thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives. Your energy, passion, and dedication are what make LCS truly special. I will always be cheering you on as you continue to achieve great things.

As I prepare for retirement, I am committed to supporting a smooth transition to new leadership. My retirement date may be adjusted as needed, and I will keep the community informed throughout the process.

As I step away from this role, I encourage all members of the LCS community to continue supporting one another with kindness, compassion, and love. It is this spirit of care and empathy that truly sets our community apart and makes LCS a special place. Let us continue to uplift and inspire one another as we move forward.

Thank you once again for the incredible privilege of serving as your Superintendent. I will forever treasure my time at Lincoln Consolidated Schools and the many relationships that have enriched my life.

With heartfelt gratitude,

 Bob Jansen,
 Superintendent
