National School Bus Safety Week: October 20–24, 2025

To recognize National School Bus Safety Week, our Transportation Department will conduct rear door evacuation drills on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 (weather permitting - reschedule dates: October 23 or 24).

These drills will take place before students are dropped off at school, so buses may arrive a few minutes later than usual. Schools have been notified, and late arrivals will be excused.

Please remind your child that this is a practice drill to help everyone stay safe in an emergency.

⚠️ Safety Reminder: Since the start of the school year on August 25, we’ve had over 5,000 red light violations involving drivers running school bus stop arms.
Please do your part — when the red lights are flashing, there is No Passing - STOP.

📚✨ STEM in Action at Bishop Elementary!

Dr. Collins from the EMU STEM Education Institute visited our 2nd grade students at Bishop Elementary to read “Ada Twist, Scientist.” 🧪👩‍🔬 Each student received their very own copy of the book to follow along — and to take home — along with a healthy snack! 🍎

We loved having Dr. Collins inspire our young scientists and can’t wait to welcome her back as she visits our other two 2nd grade classrooms in the coming weeks. 💙🐾 #LincolnLearners #STEMEducation #AdaTwistScientist #BishopElementary
