Job Opportunity:  Washtenaw County Summer '19

Looking for a great way to earn money and skills this summer? Apply now for Summer19 and earn $10 or $12 an hour during the 10-week summer youth employment program for 16-24 year olds in Washtenaw County.

Summer19 helps youth manage money and build their professional network while connecting them to career opportunities and new skills.

Youth in the program will:

• Attend the Youth and Family Orientation (April 17) and Match Day Job Fair (May 22)

• Complete a multi-session “Soft Skills Academy” prior to employment (April 23 to May 30)

• Complete 10 weeks of employment (June 17-Aug 23) for a minimum of 20 hours per week at $10/hour or $12/hour based on completion of a high school degree or equivalent.

Summer Program:  Washtenaw Camp Placement (WCP) 

 Students who finish 4th grade or above this spring are eligible to apply if they live in and/or attend school in Washtenaw County.  The target population is financially disadvantaged.

A campership consists of one or two weeks of expense-paid resident summer camp.  Also supportive services including transportation and gear if needed. 

WCP has awarded more than 10,000 camperships in its 57 year history.

Summer Program:  University of Findlay Pharmacy Summer Camp

Taking place June 23 - 2, 2019, this four-day experience on campus will be a unique and fun-filled event. Our camp is open to high school students who will become a junior or senior in the fall of 2019. 

The camp will be held on the campus of the University of Findlay. Students are housed in on-campus residence halls and all meals and snacks will be provided through University of Findlay's dining services. The camp has availability for 60 students on a first come first serve basis. The last day to receive a refund is June 16. 

The College of Pharmacy faculty is looking forward to meeting future pharmacists! If you know of any high school students who are looking to better understand the pharmacy profession and our pharmacy program, please let them know about this exciting opportunity. 




Banson NYC Fashion Summer Camp

We offer two NYC Fashion Summer Camps for high school students. They are designed for teens entering 9th through 12th grades. Each week-long session will teach the students the fundamentals of the fashion industry by providing an insider's perspective. The students will stay at the LIM College Residence Hall on the Upper Eastside. Each morning the group will be picked up at the dorm by a Banson NYC representative. From there we will depart for our industry visits, seminars and activities of the day. Each evening will have group activities planned. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers per session. We accept applications on a first come, first served basis.

The cost is $1975.00 per student or $1785.00 per student if they register with a friend.

Session A: June 16, 2019 - June 22, 2019

Session B: July 7, 2019 - July 13, 2019

Summer Program:  MIAT Skilled Trades Summer Camp

Join us at our campus to gain an awareness and explore career pathways as technicians in:

  • Aviation Maintenance
  • Energy Technology/Renewable Wind Energy
  • Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, & Refrigeration (HVAC-R)
  • Electro-Mechanical Technology

Find out what it’s like to troubleshoot and repair aircraft, power generation equipment, wind turbines, furnaces and central air, and robots or other automated equipment.

Students will have an opportunity to engage in hands-on, STEM-related activities to better understand each of these high-wage, high-demand skilled trades.

Students will be able to showcase their projects to family during the Parent Showcase portion which will conclude the camp.
