| Superintendent's MessageI hope this message finds you well as we welcome the month of March. With a new month comes a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm in our schools. I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we have made as a district so far this school year, and to look forward to the exciting opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. From academic achievements to extracurricular successes, our students and staff have worked hard to create a thriving learning community that we can all be proud of. We are focused on finishing this school year off on a positive note, as well as planning for next school year. We are so thankful to everyone who assisted with filling out the various surveys these last few months that will assist us with our planning. When our staff, families, and community work together our students’ potential is limitless. |
| March is Women's History MonthMarch is a time to recognize and honor the achievements and contributions of women throughout history. It is a time to highlight the progress made by women in various fields including politics, science, education, and the arts. By acknowledging the important role that women have played in shaping society, we can inspire future generations to strive for equality and create a more inclusive and just world for all. |
| March is National Reading Month! This is a great time to celebrate the joys of reading and discover new books (and cherished old ones). Reading is not only a great source of entertainment, but it also provides numerous benefits such as expanding knowledge, improving vocabulary, reducing stress, and enhancing critical thinking skills. National Reading Month aims to promote literacy and to cultivate a love of reading among people of all ages. It is a time to celebrate the power of books and to encourage everyone to pick up a book and read! |

| Social Emotional Learning (SEL)Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is an important aspect of education that helps students develop skills that are essential for success in both academics and life. By learning to understand and manage their emotions, students are better equipped to navigate the challenges of school and beyond. That's why we are committed to promoting SEL in our district, both in the classroom and at home. Throughout the year, we will be sharing ways that parents and caregivers can support their children's social-emotional development at home. By working together, we can help our students learn who they are, how to manage their emotions, and achieve their goals. Thank you for your partnership in this important effort. This month the SEL competency we are focusing on is Self-Managment

| LCS Portrait of a Graduate CompetenciesLincoln Consolidated Schools and its community members wish to develop in students a set of key competencies that are transferable across time, space, and life’s myriad situations. Few, if anyone, can predict what situations students will find themselves in when they leave LCS. It is difficult to know exactly what content and skills they will need. To hedge against this uncertainty, it is critical to develop in our students' transferable skills and mindsets that can be applied in many situations, so they will meet challenges, seize opportunities, and continually grow throughout life. Each month we will share the Portrait of a Graduate competencies to complement the work going on during the school day.
